About JVARTA

I work for an entertainment advertising agency as a Senior Designer Animator. I work on a variety of projects such as television commercials and promos, complete network rebrands, show opens and more for luxury, national lifestyle and/or entertainment brands like HBO, Showtime, ABC, CBS, NBC Sports, ESPN, The History Channel etc…My work includes design, as well as 2D and 3D animation, modeling, texturing and compositing. My projects are conceptualized and designed ultimately creating high end style frames for the client. In production, I create highly detailed 3D and/or 2D animations from modeling, texturing, rigging, lighting, 3D tracking, etc. I continue a seamless workflow into extensive compositing for final delivery. On a day to day basis I primarily work with Cinema 4D, After Effects, Photoshop, Final Cut, Illustrator and In-Design (but also specialize in 3D Studio Max, Maya, Zbrush, Premiere Pro, Mocha, Flash etc…). I graduated from The New England Institute of Art with a BS in Media Arts and Animation. ANIMAL LOGIC with unbelievable GREAT GATSBY VFX BREAKDOWN!

I have been waiting for this…

There was an incredible amount of VFX work that went into this movie, and most would never even know it without this breakdown.  Check it out below.

Thanks Chris for the link.

DISCOVERY CHANNEL releases new promo for SHARK WEEK – IT’S A BAD WEEK TO BE A SEAL!

First off, I love the concept.  I like the marketing strategy behind it and although it’s a little messed up, thousands of these seals don’t make it during the breach period off the coast of South Africa.  With that said, it looks like the shark footage was a roto of previous shark week footage.  The handy-cam and chaotic acting definitely sells the spot.  What do you think?

DISNEY PIXAR NEW “BLUE UMBRELLA” SHORT!!!

So I went to see MONSTERS UNIVERSITY this weekend, and was excited to see PIXAR’S new short like they have before every new movie.  They called it BLUE UMBRELLA.  The style was quite different from their usual look, taking a much more photo realistic approach.  At some points I couldn’t tell if it was real footage composited with the 3D characters.  The music (by Sarah Jaffe) and the story worked perfectly, and it looked absolutely gorgeous.  Check out the trailer below!

CHARLIE COMPANIES shares BTS for NFL Network ID’S!

CHARLIE COMPANIES shows how they created their new NFL Network ID’s in this video below.  Using Cinema 4D, they seemed to have camera mapped a flat image (after cutting it up in Photoshop) onto 3D geometry and added a bone system for some slight movement.  The key to this technique is to not travel to far on an angle one way or the other, or you will start to see the imperfections of a flat image being wrapped around geometry.  Very well done, love the breakdown!

BRAND NEW SCHOOL creates 5000 Years for SONICARE

The first 3/4 of this spot is really well done with a great concept.  The subtle and not-so-subtle changes around the main character are great, and the evolution through time reads extremely well.  For such a strong spot at the top, I did think the end could have been a bit stronger rather than throwing the brush up into the sun and having it transform.  All in all, some great inspiration here.  Check it out below!

NATHAN LOVE creates “CARL THE KIND CRAB” for KELLOGS

I’m sure you have seen this floating around the commercial breaks.  NATHAN LOVE creates “Carl the kind crab” for Kellogs.  Thought I’d share this, brings back memories from those crazy cereal commercials growing up, glad it still carries on somewhere.
